Ackerman Collection on Auction — Buy Dracula’s Ring
When Forrest J Ackerman, author, actor, producer and coiner of the phrase “sci-fi” died last December, there was one question on the minds of nerds everywhere: What will become of the famed collector’s stash of science fiction and horror memorabilia? Come April, the contents of the “Ackermansion,” including the Count Dracula ring worn by Bela Lugosi in “Dracula,” the actor’s outfit from the Ed Wood classic, “Plan 9 From Outer Space,” and a first-edition copy of Mary Shelley’s novel “Frankenstein” are going up for bid and are expected to raise $500,000.
